Diggers (Theatre group)

Concert party in Paris, 1919 (list included). Related to New Zealand Army entertainment troup of similar name which performed for troops during World War One. They performed in New Zealand in 1919, with Lieutenant G P Hanna in charge, and performers Stan Lawson, Messrs Harry Blyde, Laslett Exton, Tano Fama, Norman French, Frank Perkins, Proctor, Cyril Scobell, Roy Simpson. In 1922 Tano Fama and Stan Lawson led the group - extra members included Frank Moran, Fred Webber, Bernard Beeby, Frank Perryn, Ivan Marshall, Joe Valli, Gus Dawson. In 1923, led by Gus Dawson and Tano Fama with company including: Joe Valli, Gus Dawson, Jimmy Norton, Eily Dalgleish, Claire Gooley, Claude Bell, Leah Wilson, Stan Lawson, Zelda Bailey, Thelma Barton, Lois Brierly, Connie Middleton, Diane Tabor.
