Co-mangager of Porangahau Station, Hawkes Bay, from ca 1854 until December 1879 when he moved to a farm near Waverley, South Taranaki. Second son of George Hunter (1788-1843). Family arrived in Wellington on 'Duke of Roxburgh' in 1840. Died in 1903 aged 74 years [Source: Wanganui Herald, 3 July 1903, p 6]
