Tirikatene, Rino, 1972-

New Zealand Labour Party politician, born in Rangiora. Grandson of Sir Eruera Tirikatene, nephew of Whetu Tirikatene-Sullivan, and son of Rino Tirikatene. Stood for Labour in the Te Puku o te Whenua Māori electorate in the 1996 election in place of his father, who died suddenly during the election campaign. Was elected the Member of Parliament for Te Tai Tonga in 2011 and won the seat again in 2014, 2017, and 2020. Before running for Parliament, he worked as a commercial lawyer for Simpson Grierson and in Māori development roles.
