Photographic prints of Māori carvings and other cultural objects including pou (carved figures), bailers, hue (gourds) and whare nui (meeting houses). Some of the photographs of museum objects were taken by John B Turner, and other photographers include Hall Raine, Augustus Hamilton, and possibly Margaret Orbell and Gordon Walters taken for the 'Te Ao Hou' magazine. Also includes an image of 'Korotangi', the carved bird relating to the Tainui waka. Some of the whare include Te Poho o Tamaterangi and Makahae. Also two prints of images of kōwhaiwhai from the whare Taharua, Paeroa and some notes and a letter related to these photographs (and transparencies and negatives) of Taharua; and an image of a small wooden church, and some trees.
