- Description
Audience at a concert by Herbs, possibly in a hall at Te Tii Marae (frames 1 to 5). (Identified from comparison with the previous set of images by Ans Westra, reference number AW-2370). Four young pākehā children on bicycles are lined up on a flat paved street (frame 6); a man (frame 7) is holding a wahaika (short weapon, also used in ceremonial welcomes); in frame 8, several men and women are standing praying, one man wearing traditional clothing with tipare (woven headband), and a taniko tapeka (woven sash); groups of people are seen outside, including four older men (kaumātua, frames 11 & 12), with the carved maihi of a meeting house partially visible in the background. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
