Description

All images show Māori men, women and children possibly at a poukai (Kīngitanga ceremony) at Tūrangawaewae (Identified from previous images at AW-1998 showing part of the wharenui). Frames 1 to 4 show groups of people outside by a tent, including young women from the netball teams wearing warm tops over their sports gear. The rest of the images show men organising food in a large marquee kitchen. Two men are lifting the lid of a huge cauldron of steaming food (frames 5 to 7); and the following frames show men plating up the food. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
