Description

Frames 1 to 5 were taken in Ghuznee Street, Wellington. People are crossing the road on a windy day in frames 2 & 3, and a row of men and women are waiting with luggage and parcels, possibly at a taxi stand in Ghuznee Street. A building behind shows a sign for a bottle store, and a large sign on the building is advertising Leopard beer. One man (in frames 4 & 5) is holding a carboard carton tied with string, labelled "New Zealand cheddar cheese. Exported by New Zealand Dairy Board...". Frame 6 shows a man wearing a "Karori Lions" skivvy, standing beside a table with a block of cheese labelled "Tui. Cheddar cheese"; and, in frame 7, a young person, partially visible, appears to be slicing from a block of cheese. Two women and two young girls are watching. Frames 8 to 12 show mostly women and children (with a few men) standing behind a rope watching an unidentified event, possibly at Ben Burn Park in Karori. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
