Description

All frames show protesters with placards against the 1976 rugby tour to South Africa in which the All Blacks finally toured with dark-skinned players as "honorary whites." Placards include "Young Socialists condemn racist sport"; Reject racist rugby"; "Stop the tour" "Shame"; "Apartheid kills"; "Don't play with apartheid"; and "Join the world - resist apartheid". Probably taken in the MacAlister Park and Adelaide Road area in Newtown. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
