All frames were taken on the lawn outside the Wellington Public library in Mercer Street showing the audience watching a perfomance of Vargo's Circus by alternative theatrical group Red Mole. Frames 2 to 6 show a large group of young children, many of them Māori, on the lawn. In frames 7-9 & 11 a young man, John Dickson, wearing longish hair, a beard, and a long fur coat is outside the Library building, laughing at the action on the Library Lawn. An acrobatic act by the performers is seen in frame 10 with buildings on the corner of Victoria Street seen in the background. Unless otherwise stated, all persons are unidentified. Photographs taken by Ans Westra.
