Description

A harrassed Maori woman struggles to look after her four children, who are in various states of mischief or distress. The young girl is burning the ironing; two young boys are playing with slingshots, while the mother is trying to feed the crying baby. She is standing on the cat's tail. Meanwhile over the radio comes the announcement 'In the House of Representatives, Miss Mabel Howard said she did not know if marriage was an occupation...'.

Mabel Howard never married, nor had children.
