Rosenberg, born in Germany in 1912, talks about his architectural career. Relates how he began studing in Germany but was forced to emigrate when Hitler came to power. Talks about working with Berthold Lubetkin on Highgate apartments then working for Samuel Harding and Frederick Gibberd (Liverpool Cathedral). Compares the Bauhaus School with very technical German education, and contrasts life in Europe with life in New Zealand. Talks about his work in New Zealand for the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries as a farm buildings advisory officer and his time as a Town Planning lecturer. Recalls meetings with Lillian and David Chrystall and the `Chrystall Group', and lists the group's members. Talks of house restoration as a New Zealand tradition and contrasts New Zealand's policy of attracting trained emigrants to professional hostility towards emigrant colleagues.
