Comprises photographs relating to folk music and Phil Garland's field collecting. Some images were probably taken by Garland, others by unidentified photographers between 1967 and 1970, and ca 1980s. They include:
- Two portraits of one of Garland's field informants, Harold Reid, taken in Ranfurly; and image of hilly landscape probably near Naseby or St Bathan's. These prints were originally located in loose envelope in back of photo album (ref PA1-o-1920).
- Seven images (laminated prints) of folk musicians performing on stage at the Folk Centre in Christchurch in 1967, including Phil Garland, Dave Hart, Frank Fyfe, Gordon Collier, and other members of the Woolly Dags Bush Band; also Alistair Hulett. The names of those shown in each image are inscribed on the backs of the photographs.
- Image of derelict wooden building surrounded by scrub, probably on the West Coast (originally located at ref MS-Papers-11839-030).
- Portrait of the farmer and poet Ross McMillan leaning on a wooden railing.
