Description

Black and white cartoon shows Willie Apiata, recipient of the Victoria Cross for New Zealand, sitting in the front passenger seat of a taxi, holding a machine gun. The taxi driver smiles as a passenger in the back seat who might otherwise have caused trouble for the driver, looks warily at Apiata and pays his cab fare. Cartoon references the death of an Auckland taxi driver and renewed calls to make security cameras compulsory in taxis. (Radio New Zealand, 1 February 2010)
