Under the caption 'Gravity - Don't let go', the mayor of Auckland, Len Brown, John Banks, the ACT MP for Epsom, and the National party government, represented by John Key, cling desperately to slender branches labelled respectively 'Integrity', 'Credibility' and 'Popularity'.
The cartoon is modelled on the poster for the 2013 science fiction film 'Gravity' and uses the same wording. The mayor of Auckland, Len Brown, is stuggling to hold onto his integrity, following his affair with Bevan Chuang, John Banks his credibility, following corruption issues in his mayoralty campaign, and in early October 2013 the government a drop in popularity in the polls following the change of leadership in the Labour Party.
