- The United States President, Barak Obama, and the Israeli Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanjahu, argue over the merits of the new President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani. Obama argues that rather than being 'war-mongering', Rouhani appears to be 'a model of decency and common sense'. Netanyahu retorts 'Exactly! See how dangerous he is!' The previous president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, had expressed violent antipathy toward not only Israel but also the United States, and had expressed willingness for war. As such, the right-wing nationalist government in Israel found it simple to find American backing in any confrontation with Iran, and by extension its foreign policies. But against an Iranian leader who appeared to be more moderate, United States support would be more difficult to obtain. Colour and black and white versions available Quantity: 2 digital cartoon(s).
