Poster outlines the route of the procession through Nelson streets: Collingwood Street, Bridge Street, Trafalgar Street, Hardy Street, Collingwood Street to Trafalgar Park. The programme ran from 11 am to 4.30 pm and included 100 yard races, three-legged races, presentation of flags, a music selection from the Stoke Musical Society, further running races and bicycle races for boys and girls, races for Bandsmen, Territorials; a fancy costume hockey match and football match, tugs of war, miscellaneous dancing, blindfold boxing, sack race, wheelbarrow race, "chicken in the pot".
There is a print of the Union Jack in each of the four corners of the poster.
