Description

Cartoon shows the five multi-coloured Olympic rings depicted as the biological signs for male and female. The male symbols link to female symbols, except for the two female rings which are linked together, commonly used to represent a same-sex relationship. A hand with a sledgehammer smashes one of the female signs, breaking its link with the other female sign. A headline at the top of the cartoon reads, Winter Olympics, Russia, 2014. Refers to an anti-homosexuality law passed in Russian Parliament in June 2013, which has sparked fierce criticism from the international community and prompted calls to boycott the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
