Press (Christchurch, N.Z.)

The United States President, Obama, as a storekeeper in an arsenal packed with weaponry, sniffs and says 'I smell gas!'

In June 2013, President Obama authorised the sending of weapons to the Syrian rebels, on the grounds that the government forces in Syria were using chemical weapons, thus crossing a 'red line' drawn by the United States government over the weaponry permitted. Since the United States had the largest and most varied arsenal of all, the excuse seemed hypocritical.
