- Papers comprise correspondence, legal documents, financial papers, newspaper cuttings, writings and published papers of and relating to Sir Robert and Lady Anna Stout, their children Robert, Thomas Duncan MacGregor, Olaf Eirik and Janet Osla Holmden. The papers also include those of the family of Thomas Duncan MacGregor's wife, Agnes Pearce, of Anna Stout's father, John Logan, and Sir Robert's half brother, William Anderson Stout. A substantial section of the papers also include papers relating to Vida Mary and John David Stout, children of Thomas Duncan MacGregor and Agnes Isobel Stout. There are also legal documents, pamphlets and other publications, many by Sir Robert and Anna Stout and newspaper cuttings. Bound volumes include a birthday book, baby book, guest book, and autograph book. A further small collection, mainly relating to Robert Edward and Hilary Stout, arrived in 2014 and were incorporated with Series 8 - Other Stout family members. Robert Stout married Anna Logan, the daughter of John Logan in 1876. His relationship with his father-in-law revolved mainly around their business interests. Stout's son, Thomas Duncan MacGregor Stout, married Agnes Isobel Pearce in 1919, thus linking the Stout and Pearce families. Quantity: 189 folder(s). 2.75 Linear Metres. They were passed to Dr Stout's daughter, Vida Stout. After her death in 2012, the papers came to Philippa Biss, the daughter of Robert Stout, who passed them to the Library, the greater part of the collection coming in 2013.
