Summarises the decision of the Court of Appeal in 'Jeffries & Ors v R'  NZCA 188 (30 May 2013), the appeal by William Jeffries, Michael Reeves, Douglas Graham, and Lawrence Bryant against their convictions on charges laid under section 58(3) of the Securities Act 1978 arising from the financial collapse of Lombard Finance and Investments Ltd in 2008, and the subsequent appeal by the Solicitor-General against the sentences of community work imposed on the appellants.
