- Waikato times (Newspaper)
Shows Hannibal, 3rd century BCE military commander, as he crosses the Alps with his army travelling overland from the Iberian peninsula to what is now modern day Italy. Hannibal says to his army, 'I would give my right arm for a Waikato expressway'. Refers to the construction of the Waikato expressway, which will feature 16 kilometres of four-lane median-divided highway between Tamahere and Cambridge. The Government has named the expressway project, to be finished by 2019, as one of seven Roads of National Significance. (Waikato Times, 4 April 2013)
