Context: Margaret Medlyn, Head of Classical Performance Voice at NZSM, was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) for services to opera. Bret McKenzie was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to music and film. The awards were part of the Queen's birthday and Diamond Jubilee Honours List 2012.
