A new pedestrian bridge crossing the State Highway 20 extension from Ernie Pinches Street to Sandringham Road has been named after Ernie Pinches - a former Mt Roskill borough councillor, deputy mayor and acting mayor in 1987/1988. Includes photo of Ernie's wife Gladys on the bridge and an earlier portrait of Ernie who was awarded a Queen's Silver Jubilee meadl for 25 years service to the council.
