Strombom, Simon John Caulfield, 1971-

The first diary records Strombom's service in the Sinai, Oct 2004 - February 2005. It includes some illustrations. The other two diaries record his service in Afghanistan. The diaries give detailed accounts of day-to-day activity.

Also included is a letter from the Governor-General, 25 May 2009, informing Strombom that he is to be awarded the DSD.

Strombom spent 16 years in the New Zealand Army. He retired in 2009 with the rank of Major. He was awarded the Distinquished Service Decoration (DSD) in 2009.
