- Contains letters from Kitson, to his sisters Belle and Lucy, interspersed with entries from his diary all written while he was on active service during the period 1914 to 1917. Letters and diary describe his voyage to the middle east and then on to Gallipoli and his hospitalization first in Malta and then in England. There are photographs throughout the volume, some taken by Kitson, depicting various scenes from this period. These letters and diary entries have been transcribed and put together in a spiral binding with the photographs and a list of the friends and relatives mentioned in the diary and letters by Helen of Christchurch.
