Shows Captain Cook in uniform, seated and looking to his left, and holding a chart of the Southern Hemisphere. A pirated re-engraving of J K Sherwin's engraving of the Dance portrait. Variations include Cook's hand holding the chart rolled at the foredge; he has the chart on his knee and his right arm obscures his hat's cockade; and the background is plain
