- 1845 - 1847
- Brees, Samuel Charles, 1810?-1865; Melville, Henry, 1792-1870
View from the top of the Terrace looking down over Te Aro Flat with Mount Victoria in the distance. Manners Street can clearly be seen in the bottom left of the picture, leading to the Wesleyan Chapel on the right-hand side of the road. Wellington Harbour can be seen on the left of the view, with ships dotted in the harbour
The reference to 'Captain Sharpe' should correctly be Captain Sharp. Captain Charles Kingsford Sharp owned a house at the top of The Terrace, Wellington, where Salamanca Road joins The Terrace
