[1] 9 original cartoons 140 x 440 mm 1962-1966. [2] 1 photograph, 1 original cartoon in pencil, drawn on an envelope 180 x 200mm, 5 newspaper clippings relating to Sir Bernard Fergusson, a scrawled note on the origins of the Fergusson family, a photograph of a letter written to George Henderson by Bernard Fergusson thanking him for the gift of a cartoon and mentioning an encounter between George Henderson and Bernard Fergusson's father in 1925? - letter dated 11 June 1963. [3] 1 copy of 'Centennial Scratches by Hen - 1848 and all that'. Inscribed 'To Miles from Dad'. 10/5/52. [4] 1 copy of '100 Years of firefighting - The New Plymouth Fire Brigade 1866-1966' by A.B. Scanlan. There is a Henderson cartoon on the back cover. [5] A school exercise book (Naenae College, Hutt Valley) Contains handwritten copy of 'Omar Khayam' plus a lot of quotations from various poems. Includes extra pages with handwritten copies of 'If' by Rudyard Kipling and 'Not understood' by Thomas Bracken. A photograph of George Henderson doing a sketch of Bishop Pyatt's bicycle in front of a group of school children. 1 newspaper clipping of the U.S. 'Moonshovel' spacecraft April 21, 1967. An advertisement from Taranaki Newspapers Limited with much pleasure announcing the personal appearance of 'HEN' the Daily News cartoonist. A small photo taken at an exhibition of some sort entitled 'We'll keep right on to the end of the road, keep right on to the end', also an essay called 'Our moods' by Alfred Martin focusing on depression. [6] A copy of the Poetical works of Robert Burns published 1910. In the front is a note written by Henderson saying that he was given the book by Dick White who bought Newbolds Bookshop and who bought Dr Frank Fitchett's collection of books. He presented this one to George Henderson because he knew Dr Fitchett had brought him into this world and started him off on cartoons when he was 10 years old. Dated 1955. There are several newsclippings about writers and music inside the book. [7] 1 tattered foolscap package containing - 8 photocopies of 'Ces' cartoons. 82 original cartoons approx 20 x 23 mm, 18 newspaper prints of cartoons by Hen. 9 photos of cartoons, 9 photos of Ces strips. 2 photocopies, a 1945 Hitler cartoon and a 1946 Anzac Day cartoon. 3 drawings of the backview of a Scotsman. Tracing of part of the Bayeux tapestry - death of Harold plus a note about this. Death notice for GH in Chch Star, obituary prob. [9] 1 packet containing 223 newspaper clippings of cartoons by GH. A few letters to the editor re GH's cartoons, plus a piece about GH's retirement from the Hauraki Herald. 4 original pen and crayon cartoons, 3 photocopies of cartoons, 2 photos of cartoons, a photo of a display of GH's book 'Shield fever'. [10] 1 copy of 'Flak' - 26th Comp. A.A. Regt. Dunedin N.Z. 1943 - a 36 page magazine about the regiment with many cartoons by GH. [11] 1 copy of 'Shield fever'. [12] 1 copy of 'mainstay' oct 1969, monthly magazine of the New Zealand General Service Conference of Alcoholics Anonymous with cartoons by GH. [13] 1 copy of 'Forever amber' souvenir Ranfurly Shield Record 1958-64 with cartoons by GH. [14] 1 copy of book 'The pride of Southern Rebels, the history of Otago rugby / Sean O'Hagan. [15] Letter from William Anderson Commanding Officer USS Texas (CGN 39) thanking GH for cartoon - Texas-Kiwi state of affairs. [16] Small painting of potato gatherers - not on back to Jo (2nd wife of GH) dated 1963.
