The cartoon shows the Beehive with a 'For sale' flag on top. Text says that the government's secret $1.3 billion deal to sell off more of NZ falls through...... but here's an ASSet, including occupants, worth flogging off.' There is a second version but the librarian didn't win the 'spot the difference' test on this one. Refers to a mystery $1.3b deal that was approved by the Overseas Investment Office, but did not go ahead. Overseas Investment Office figures made public yesterday (5 January 2012) show that in the 11 months ended November, 132 deals were approved, worth a net investment of $1.87b. That was up from $404 million in the same period in 2010.
