Description

Shows an orchestra playing instruments, with the conductor at bottom left. They are all naked and appear to be floating in space. There are also two sheep or lambs that are playing instruments. The whole group is surrounded by flowers and bees.

The concert and drawings for the accompanying programme are based on the Hoffnung Music Festival Concerts. Gerard Hoffnung (1925-1959) was a cartoonist and gifted musician who in 1956 started the Hoffnung Music Festivals, an original brand of symphonic caricature that received international acclaim
