Baring Square with two statues, one of John Grigg (1828?-1901), runs along East Street in the left foreground, and the business premises of Baker and Brown (coachbuilders at 164 Havelock Street), are visible behind the park. Photograph taken by A W H, probably Alfred W Hopkins, bookseller and stationer at 55 East Street, Ashburton
