Description

Evening Post reporter Karen Brown cycling on a bicycle path between Kaiwharawhara and Petone on the Western Hutt Road, Wellington. The path is strewn with litter and disused railway and motorway equipment. Photographs taken 20 September 1978 by Evening Post staff photographer John Nicholson.

Original Evening Post staff caption reads "If you're thinking about taking a pleasant cycle ride around the harbour to Petone, forget it. As you can see, it's not much fun any more."
