Shows a carved waka seating some 30 men, with a high decorated end towards the right, and Gable End Foreland in the background. Note that some copies from this image show the high end of the boat at the left.
Date of original sighting in ca April 1770 is taken from Joppien & Smith.
Extended Title - from John Hawkesworth's "An account of the voyages ... for making discoveries in the southern hemisphere ..." (1773). Volume 3, opp. page 463.
