Binding by Sagorski and Sutcliffe, London, was commissioned by Alexander Turnbull on purchase

Provenance: Purchased by Alexander Turnbull, May 1913, from dealers Angus & Robertson, Sydney. They had purchased the sketchbooks and Strutt's diary from the artist in London.
