The New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark is sawing through a branch on which the Associate Minister for Maori Affairs, Taraiana Turia, sits. Clark is sitting on the same outer side of the cut as Turia Turia resigned from cabinet and the New Zealand Labour Party later that month after refusing to bow to pressure from the Labour Party to toe the line on the proposed Seabed and Foreshore legislation.
