Posters published during the 1970-1980s, warning of dangers in boating in small craft.

Includes:

Always carry a first-aid kit (fisherman wrestles with a sea-serpent) (2 copies)

Always check weather before (fisherman unaware of rising waves and storm)(2 copies)

Carry spare fuel and another means of propulsion (Young woman foils man's attempts to maroon their boat on a desert island, by supplying a tin of petrol she has hidden in the picnic lunch box)(2 copies)

Don't clutter up fairways so that small craft hamper the navigation of large vehicles. 1971 (Fisherman believes every other craft has to give way to fishermen)

Keep a good lookout at all times to avoid collision or stranding. 1971 (Fishermen, happy to be landing a large fish, fail to see a large ship bearing down on them)

Know how to tie knots (Fisherman ties his boat to an octopus that hangs on to a pole)(2 copies)

Know your boat's capabilities (Ditching life jackets to fit more beer on their boat was not a good idea for a boatful of fishermen in heavy seas)(2 copies)

Know your buoys and beacons. 1984 (Speedboat fishermen scoff at the placement of a buoy, not realising they are about to hit a sumarine periscope)
