Lodge, Nevile Sidney 1918-1989 :The public is reported to have accepted the beer price-rise almost without a murmur - This is, of course, due to the public having a bigger thing on its mind - And we're just afraid that other organisations may realise that this is the time to - "Cash in" and get away with it. July 1965
The cartoon shows a man scanning the newspaper, ignoring the news about beer being dearer and concentrating on 'Springbok team arrives Sunday'. He is then seen in a daze of 'Springbok fever' clutching his radio and surrounded by papers indicating price rises in transport, cigarettes, parking, rail, sugar, beer etc - he ignores them all.
