Caption - Original Evening Post caption reads: "Plump and succulent, this a toheroa. Admired by the gourmet and sought by hundreds who seldom find, he is plentiful on many beaches at Wellington's back door. This photograph shows the feeding suckers, elastic syphons which periscope to the sand surface, and the flat shovel-like tongue which is beginning to dig an escape."
