Chunn and his immediate family left a Cambodian refugee camp in Thailand 10 months before this photograph was taken, to come to New Zealand under the sponsorship of the Wellington branch of the Humanist Society. It had been a four year struggle to escape the Khmer Rouge and get to New Zealand.
