Shows Maori Party leaders Tariana Turia and Pita Sharples sitting on a Maori seats. They are encouraging voters signing on the Maori roll. National and ACT leaders Don Brash and Rodney Hide are dressed as furniture removers and are trying to remove the Maori seats. Cartoon depicts the importance of politics for Maori with the introduction of the five-yearly voting option for New Zealand citizens of Maori descent. This option has the potential to increase the power of the Maori Party. The National and ACT parties hope to abolish the Maori seats in the government, while the Labour Party lost four of its Maori seats as a result.
