- Description
A notice posted on a brick wall in World War I contains a figure of John Bull? and dog with the following message: "Help to cut down 'Exs'. Everything that is salvaged can be used again. So it's up to you to bring something back." Photograph taken probably in France (possibly Foncquevillers) 27 July 1918 by Henry Armytage Sanders.
