- Description
A stream of refugees are heading away from two Soviet tanks. Above the smoke of bombardment three aricraft can be seen. A man holding an Olympic flag and clutching a bursting suitcase enquires of the driver of the tank looming over him, 'Which way to Moscow?'. At the top of the cartoon is written '130,000 flee Soviet attack'. Soviet Russia invaded Afghanistan on 24 December 1979. Despite protest boycotts, the Olympic Games opened in Moscow on 19 July 1980.
