Description

"Ud" class steam locomotive 464, type 4-6-0, built by Baldwin, with four men standing alongside. The men are identified from left as K F Easton, C Davis, T Gregory and R J Smith in Godber Album Vol 109, p 119. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber on 21 May 1920.

"Ud" 464 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Workshops, Philadelphia, entered service in 10 November 1904 as Wellington and Manawatu Railway Co locomotive no. 19, became NZR Ud 464 in 1908 when the Manawatu Railway was acquired by the Government, and was written off on 30 July 1929.
