Description

In an empty stadium, apart from a janitor, a New Zealander runner is using a string to trigger the starting gun as he lines up at the starting line. Beside him the lanes for USA, Pakistan, Japan and Canada are empty. The stadium is decorated with the Olympic symbol and the hammer and sickle. The 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow were boycotted because of the invasion of Afghanistan by Soviet Russia.
