A view from the shore, with a tree-fern, cabbage tree and another tree to the left, a Maori man on the shore close to a small canoe, yachts in the bay and houses, a church and businesses around the shore. A wharf is visible in the distance on the right.
Dating: Another view of Auckland by Norman is known to be dated 1852. Norman spent most of his time in New Zealand in the Wellington region between 1842 and 1845 when he returned to England, and in the South Island after his return to New Zealand in 1852
