The quotation from the New York Times was made by journalist Jennifer Dunning after a 1981 tour to the United States (See Limbs programme for the fire programme 1985, at Eph-B-DANCE-1985). The "On the Mainland" tour may refer to the group's tour of the South Island in 1982, and this has determined the estimated date.
