Lady Barbara Freyberg presenting C Masters with the trophies won during the day at the New Zealand Division Athletics Championships, held at the Farouk Stadium in Cairo, Egypt. Masters was winner of the 100 yards, in 10.5 seconds, which was 3/10ths faster than his 1941 record. He also won the hop, step and jump, with a record of 41 feet 8 inches. He took second place in the 220 yards, as well as being a key runner in two relay races. Photograph taken circa 11 August 1943 by George Frederick Kaye.
