Taranaki Mount seen from the sea with the Sugar Loaf Islands to the left, and two sailing ships (one possibly intended to represent the Tory) and a Maori canoe. The associated text reads: This is generally the first land in New Zealand made by vessels from England. - Mount Egmont is nearly 9000 feet high. The Town and Settlement of New Plymouth are situated on the farther side of the Sugar Loaf Peak and Islands, which are seen at the extremes of the view.
