Enoch Tonks' brick factory at 79 Webb Street, Wellington, taken by an unidentified photographer before 1896. Standing in the doorway is William (Bill) Tonks, son of Enoch, the foreman.
Note on back of file print reads: "Brick factory in Wellngton, owned by E T Tonks, showing the main building and kiln with piles of bricks outside. The yard was at the very top of Cuba St, actually Webb St, where the Electricty Dept now stands."
Brickworks taken over by Enoch Tonks (from other family members) in 1875. Shut down and demolished in 1925. Site sold to Fletchers.
