Description

The scene is someone's barn deep in rural New Zealand. Outside the barn are a number of old cars in various stages of dereliction. From inside the barn floats shouting and foul language. There are two farmhands leaning on a fence outside. One of them wonders what is causing the uproar and assumes that it is probably the usual problems like water shortages and rising prices, but he is told by the other that is is about the micro-chipping of dogs. Refers to the hotly debated topic of the micro-chipping of dogs which many people thought was an expensive exercise that might not achieve what it was meant to; that is, making the public safe from dog attacks. Also farmers who often owned many dogs were outraged at the amount of money that they had to pay when their dogs often remained on the farm and therefore were less likely to cause trouble than other dogs.
